Why Websites in Hong Kong can be crowded and cluttered?

Here are a few of those:

Cultural differences:
Hong Kong is a melting pot of cultures and nationalities which make it challenging to design website for. Different cultures have different preferences for colors. In China, the color red is associated with good luck and prosperity, while in the West, it is often associated with danger or warning. In Hong Kong most website are in Chinese, once translated it can create some issues since the reading pattern in western culture is very different.

Competition:
Hong Kong businesses often try to stand out from the competition by overloading their websites with information and calls to action. Maybe by fear of missing a potential client who wants something they don't have. However, this can be overwhelming and confusing for users, making it difficult for them to find what they are looking for and take the desired action. It's all about balance and user target.

User expectations:
Many Hong Kong users expect websites to be crowded and cluttered. Hong Kong is a very densely populated city, and people are used to seeing a lot of information in a small space. This is reflected in the design of Hong Kong websites, which often contain a lot of information on a single page.

Sometimes, it's like if you are choosing what you want to buy for diner, you are surrounded by tons of offers and your young nephews behind you are singing their favorite Disney song at the same time.

Nevertheless It is important to note that not all Hong Kong users expect websites to be crowded and cluttered. The growing concern for better user experience have encouraged businesses to care more about what their user need. There is a growing trend towards minimalist web design, and many users appreciate the simplicity and elegance of these websites.
